Luigi and Lucia hand make all their soaps from ingredients sourced as close to home as possible, often less than 1km away. That is not to say they aren’t extremely choosy about what goes in to their soap; they use only extra virgin olive oil and, unlike other soap producers, shun any unsustainable products such as palm oil. Luigi is a trained chemist, but his love for soap came from his grandmother. His philosophy for soap-making is just the same as for Italian food: use as few ingredients as possible and make sure they are all of exceptional quality. Lucia is an ecologist and the self-appointed company guinea pig; all new creations are not tested on animals, but on her.
